Bueno Tarde

¡No worries...we wore helmets all day, just not for the photo opportunities!

Today was a wonderful day in Mendoza, Argentina (we have been here for two days and will leave tomorrow for northern Chile). We rented bikes and cycled through the vineyards and olive tree farms of the arid land of Mendoza. We pedaled for a total of 40 km today in the sunshine and my gringa-ness is shining through my newly-sun-kissed skin. Biking and tasting varietals of wine made for a tired (yet very content) couple. So, tonight (now) we are hanging with the family and friends of our hostel (photos of this wonderful place and family soon) ordering food in and watching a movie. Mendoza is full of smiling people, incredible sunshine, some of the best wine in the world and bike trails...once again, enough to make a girl want to relocate!

You both look wonderful and the Bikesandwine Tour seems to have been designed with you in mind. The whales photos are amazing, but don't we have whales in the Chesapeake Bay. Do you really need to relocate???

HOLA Brina! Thanks for writing! We are safe and sound and better than good. Right now we are back in Santiago and in about 40 minutes we are headed to Northern Chile to a small desert town of San Pedro de Atacama. Yesterday we saw the highest peak in the Americas and tomorrow we will arrive near the largest salt flats in the world (in Bolivia). I am really looking forward to these next few days, for we are headed to hot springs, days of trekking and hopefully into the amazon of Bolivia. We will update you soon! Aaron says that he wrote you an email and you didn{t respond...so according to him, it is your turn!
Love from Chile! Kerri
PS- Thanks for the Keba updates!

Hola Kerri - Wow! the pictures are fabulous!!! I am so excited for you two - getting to do and see so many things. I can't wait for you to get home and we can sit and talk and talk and look at all your pictures. BUT - i agree with Brina .....do you really need to relocate??? There was just a story in the news about a whale off the coast of Delaware that must have been something to see right here. Anyway on another topic. I see from your response to Brina that you are headed to bolivia and the amazon.....that is where Catherine Layton and her family are right now in a medical mission. It is funny that you mentioned this as when i was talking to her dad about scott's new job and him traeling to Brazil next year he said that is right near Catherine .....so keep your eyes out you never know who you might run into over there in south america. Gotta run now so have fun, keep in touch and most of all be safe. I am counting the days until i see you guys.
Hugs and kisses to both

HELLO mom and dad,
I just wanted to let you know that we are back from Bolivia and the hardest five days of my life, but those stories will have to wait until we are face-to-face, but all is well! We are back in the desert town of San Pedro de Atacama, recovering and resting up today. Tomorrow we may try some horseback riding in the hills here. Then we travel south to Santiago on the 16th, to prepare for our return to the real world (yuck!). I will be able to check email for the next few days, so please keep me posted! Have fun at the White Marlin tournament and keep in touch! Love from sunny South America!

Daddy dearest,
Whatever I can do to release some of the stress in your life, you know I will do it in a heartbeat (just typing this made me laugh out loud!)...but I will call soon, promise! I am very excited for the wedding, too. What a blast--our family, the beach, a reason to party...what could be better! I hope to talk to you soon, but until then, try to take slow deep breaths and tell Mom to take a longer bike ride! Oh, we bought your present today...take a guess!
Love ya,
Kerri
